Art Brut frontman Eddie Argos was also not a fan. "Just watched SNL thats the Lana Del Rey you all like?" he tweeted. "I thought it was Kirsten Wiig doing one of her 'wacky' characters. You are all idiots."
However, not everybody with ears clamored for Del Rey to be shamed. The host of that night's 'SNL,' Daniel Radcliffe, came to her defense, saying, "It was unfortunate that people seemed to turn on her so quickly."
He went on to say find other ways to excuse her without actually complimenting her: "I also think people are making it about things other than the performance," and "If you read what people are saying about her online, it's all about her past and her family and stuff that's nobody else's business. I don't think it warranted anywhere near that reaction."
Despite the backlash, which is something the singer must be getting used to by now, her future is still looking pretty rosy. Del Rey will be performing on 'The Late Show With David Letterman' on Feb. 2 and 'The Ellen Degeneres Show' later that month. She also was added to SXSW's lineup on Monday. Maybe by then she can get her performance to a place where she doesn't need to be saved by Harry Potter.
