"I spun characters out of a number of [real-life] situations and wove them into a tongue-in-cheek narrative about being bad while being good, and what your mother might say," songwriter Kat Burns tells Spinner.
In order to get the perfect look for the video, it was filmed all over Toronto, including the city's "freezing cold" waterfront and the Canadian National Exhibition.
"The director wanted to maintain a personal feeling throughout, as if an insightful conversation was being shared between myself and the audience," she says. "The ending was pretty fun to film as we had about twenty people running all over the beach and falling in the sand over..and over...and over.."
