Al Goodman, a soul singer and former member of the Moments, died Monday, according to CNN. The 67-year-old passed away due to heart failure that occurred while he was undergoing surgery to remove a tumor.

The Moments, which included Harry Ray and William Brown, formed in 1968 and went on to have hits with 1970's 'Love on a Two Way Street' and 1975's 'Look at Me (I'm in Love).' After leaving their label, Stang, in 1979, the group had to legally abandon the Moments moniker and opted to record as Ray, Goodman and Brown. With the new name, the group recorded 'Special Lady,' which also went to No. 1 on the R&B charts.

Despite Ray's passing in 1992, the group continued to perform in recent years with various other members. They sang on Alicia Keys' hit 'You Don't Know My Name' and 'Love on a Two Way Street' was sampled by Jay-Z on 'Empire State of Mind.'

"There's mourning all over the world -- in England, in Germany and in Japan. We're all mourning for Al Goodman," said Marshall Thompson, leader of the Chi-Lites, according to CNN.

Goodman's funeral will take place next Monday at Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, N.J. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Henrietta, five children and one grandchild.

What a great group, with beautiful music and lyrics. The Moments and later Ray, Goodman and Brown, these guys were sharp dressers and had such tremendous stage presense. I love their song especially the song With You. Mister Goodman you just like Harry Ray will certainly be missed but, heaven sure is in store for another great voice. Love You

Such a loss, we are losing the great ones, one by one! Their special brand of music and harmony will not be found again. They were part of my adolescence.

R.I.P. where ever you are. Sometimes we forget about good songs or music, reguardless if its country, jazz, rock, heavy metal,blues,..but when you, or .Ilmeteal, melleael, blues, oldies, whenever I hear a song that I haven't heard for a long time, I remember what I was doing & where I was when I 1st heard it. Those are good memories.
