Noel Gallagher has revealed Oasis were forced to pay for the recording of their final album 'Dig Out Your Soul' in cash.According to a video on the NME, Gallagher and his bandmates had to reach into their pockets in order to record at London's Abbey Road studios, from where the group had previously been banned.
Gallagher said, "We decided to go back to Abbey Road after being kicked out during the 'Be Here Now' [Oasis's 1997 album] sessions for being a bit wild. They let us back in but we had to pay in cash. If they threw us out we lost all the money."
Oasis, who release the singles compilation 'Time Flies... 1994-2009' on June 14, released 'Dig Out Your Soul' in 2008, a year before the Britpop rockers called broke up amid acrimony.
Gallagher went on to say he had hit a purple patch of songwriting as they put together their final LP.
"We were in the studio for five weeks or something," he said. "I wrote 'The Shock of the Lightning' and 'Falling Down' in one weekend just sitting at home."
Gallagher's comments are the latest in a few retrospective evaluations of his band's past, having previously voiced his opinion that 'Be Here Now' was too long.
