It's taken 14 years and nine studio albums but Drive-By Truckers are finally enjoying the kind of recognition their efforts deserve.Latest record 'The Big To Do' has seen the six-piece score their biggest success to date on both sides of the Atlantic.
One of the stand-out track's from the album is 'After the Scene Dies.' The song reflects on the ever-changing state of the Athens, Ga. music scene, a subject very close to band co-founder Patterson Hood's heart, "Ironically shortly after we recorded that song we lost the Georgia Theater in a fire. That's a huge, huge loss for our community and our down town and music scene."
Written after seeing "something unbelievable" but "poorly attended" at Athens' 40 Watt Club, Hood describes the track as a "kind of a call-to-arms not to take it (the music scene) for granted."
Watch the video after the jump.
