Taylor Swift Duets With Stevie Nicks at the Grammys

Taylor Swift, Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood MacIt was a pairing with a legend and one in the making, as Fleetwood Mac's leading lady Stevie Nicks joined Taylor Swift onstage at the Grammys. Earlier in the evening, Swift described Nicks as "her hero" and she opened her performance with 'Today Was a Fairytale,' playing a quick version on the acoustic before bringing out Nicks for Mac's 'Rhiannon.'

"It's a fairytale and an honor to share the stage with Stevie Nicks," she said as Nicks walked out. The version was cut short so they could duet on a banjo-driven version of Swift's hit 'You Belong With Me.' Throughout the performance, Swift and Nicks were making constant eye contact, with Swift dancing up close to her while strumming the guitar and Nicks playing the tambourine.

While Fleetwood fans probably wouldn't say this was Nick's best vocal duet, it was still one of the nicer surprises of the evening. Earlier, Swift took home the Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal.

I am so surprised that Taylor Swift is so big. She cannot sing. I sing better than she does and I cannot Sing. First she butchered Def Lepard and now Stevie Nicks who is next. Maybe someone will get the hint and not try this again.

Sorry to say...

Unfortunately, Taylor Swift is not as talented as everyone makes her out to be. How did she win the MTV Music Award for song of the year, when she didn't even win the best Female Song??? Seems like best female song would be a prerequisite for song of the year. I have to agree with Kanye on this one, she did not deserve the award.
BIG mistake to have Stevie Knicks sing backup for someone who isn't as talented as she is, vocally.
Taylor Swift won Grammys because the same age group that bought all of Debbie Gibson & Paula Abdul albums in the 80's are buying her stuff. I felt sorry that someone as talented as Beyonce got the shaft at the MTV awards for someone like Taylor!

I watched this performance and was somewhat astonished at how badly Taylor missed her notes in the choruses of "Rhiannon". I also just read that the head of her record company is ready to defend her performance with the claim that she couldn't hear the mix properly. (The claim may or may not be true. We'll never know for sure.) However, as a musician myself, I know that if I can't hear properly - if the sound is that bad, I have been off key without realizing it. That being said, if there is truth to the claim, or if Taylor was that nervous and not concentrating fully on the song, this could be a plausible reason. And if the cause was something else, such as nothing other than a song performed badly, I thing there are way too many people out there only too ready to pounce on a young girl because she wasn't "perfect". She's only 20 years old and she is being compared to Stevie who has been a performer for about 40 years, starting with Buckingham Nicks, a duo pre-Fleetwood Mac. Give the girl a break and let her mature a bit. It will be interesting to see how she does after she has another ten years under her belt, should the recording industry allow her to be around that long.

The Grammy's should go to the engineers in the recording studio who make Swift sound good. Sorry to say, she's cute and sweet but has no vocal range, can't carry a tune and is flat most of the time. Hope she does well in acting and drops her singing career.

Taylor S can NOT sing and to have Stevie up there singing backup to this NON SINGER?!! NO WAY can Taylor S compare ever to Stevie!! Stevie should have sung with a real singer! Stevie singing with Christina A would have been very cool!
