Mike Doughty, '(You Should Be) Doubly (Gratified)' -- Video Premiere

During filming for the '(You Should Be) Doubly (Gratified)' video, a song from Mike Doughty's latest disc, 'Sad Man, Happy Man,' Doughty definitely felt more like the sad man than the happy one. The video was shot far from the former Soul Coughing frontman's home but only a couple miles from a Starbucks -- in Cambodia. The alt-rocker-turned-folkie says that it was all shot on location, mostly in and around Phnom Penh, Battambang and Kampot.

"I broke up with my girlfriend while we were over there," Doughty tells Spinner. "Can you see it on my face in the video? I mean, along with a profusion of sweat -- as it turns out, it is hot in Southeast Asia! If I have any advice to give, it's that if you're gonna break up with your girlfriend, don't do it when you're 8,000 miles from home." Duly noted. While you're learning that lesson, check out the premiere of the '(You Should Be) Doubly (Gratified)' video after the jump.

good song. lame video. its distracting and takes away from the music. the song is better without this. you went to some kampuchean tourist spots? so what?
the shot of the ferris wheel quite pretty.
