Leonard Cohen Back on Tour After Weekend Collapse

Fans attending iconic singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen's Friday night concert in Valencia, Spain witnessed a scary moment on stage when the singer collapsed during one of his most famous numbers, 'Bird on the Wire.' A video that quickly surfaced on YouTube shows Cohen sitting on the drummer's raised platform while solos are ensuing; once the saxophone part hit, he fell over, with his bandmates immediately rushing to his side. He was just four songs into his set at the time.

It turns out it was probably nothing more than food poisoning and according to the BBC, Cohen's bandmates informed the crowd that he'd been suffering from vomit fits and stomach cramps. Luckily, it seems to have passed and Cohen will take the stage tonight in Barcelona and is scheduled to play a somewhat controversial gig later this week in Tel Aviv.

Cohen is also celebrating his 75th birthday today and it's been quite a year so far, despite this one minor snafu. After being dormant from touring for fifteen years, Cohen returned to the stage in 2008 and has played to massive audiences, including sold out shows at Radio City Music Hall, a headlining slot at Coachella this past April and a forthcoming show at Madison Square Garden this October.
